Certified by the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) as an Instructor and Range Safety Officer, Jocelyn proves that “growing up around guns” doesn’t automatically mean you know what you’re doing. Despite spending plenty of time hunting whistle pigs with her dad, Jocelyn’s early firearm training consisted of him loading the gun, handing it over, and her pulling the trigger– end of lesson.

Fast forward a few years and what started as a hobby with her husband, quickly evolved into a deep commitment to training, discipline, and personal responsibility. Jocelyn’s husband, now co-founder of TVSA, has spent nearly a decade training her in every aspect of firearms– from safe handling and defensive skills to weapon maintenance, tear-downs and rebuilds. She is now certified to teach Kids Firearms Safety, Concealed Carry and Home Defense, Women’s Self-Defense, and Active Shooter Response. Her training philosophy emphasizes safety upon safety,” ensuring every student develops not only skill but also responsibility.

Jocelyn’s mission is clear: change the way women view firearms. She believes women should embrace the responsibility of being their own– and their family’s– first responder. By helping women develop both confidence and competence, she empowers them to move beyond fear, reject victim-hood, and stand strong in their independence.

For Jocelyn, firearms are more than tools of defense– they are a path to independence, confidence, and empowerment. While many advocate for equality and personal safety yet oppose firearms, she advocates for recognizing the firearm as the –Great Equalizer– one that provides women with unmatched security and the ability to take ownership of their personal protection.
