Practical Concealed Carry-Level 1 (CTAC1) is designed for responsibly armed individuals who want to move beyond static fundamentals and develop real-world concealed carry skills. Every drill in this course is performed from concealment, reinforcing habits that translate directly to everyday carry.

Class Overview

CTAC1 introduces students to Practical Concealed Carry training with an emphasis on efficiency, decision-making, and personal responsibility. This course focuses on building skills that matter for day-to-day life, while reinforcing judgement, legality, and safety.
Students are challenged in a controlled, instructor-led environment that prioritizes thoughtful progression over speed for speed's sake.

What You Will Learn

  • Conflict avoidance and the importance of de-escalation
  • Situational awareness and threat recognition
  • Personal safety principles and developing a self-defense plan
  • Understanding use of force and proper escalation in self-defense scenarios
  • Advanced shooting fundamentals relevant to concealed carry
  • Physiology of violent encounters and how the body responds under high stress

All drills and exercises are conducted from concealment to reflect real-world carry conditions.

Prior handgun fundamentals training is strongly recommended.

Safety and accountability are enforced at all times.


Safety Comes First

Practical training does NOT mean reckless training. 

All drills are conducted under strict safety protocols with close instructor supervision. Students are expected to demonstrate safe firearm handling muzzle discipline, and sound judgment throughout the course. 

Instructor Experience

Training is led by qualified, experienced instructors with a strong background in practical concealed carry education who emphasize:

  • Responsible concealed carry habits
  • Calm, deliberate skill development
  • Real-world applicability without unnecessary risk

What You Are Required To Bring

This course is designed around realistic, everyday carry conditions. Bring only what you would reasonably wear or carry in daily life.

Required equipment and attire:

  • Your EDC (everyday carry) handgun
  • 200 rounds of ammunition for your handgun
  • A holster that properly fits your handgun and allows safe re-holstering
  • Pants or shorts with belt loops and a sturdy belt suitable for concealed carry
  • Weather-appropriate clothing you would normally wear day-to-day
  • Eye and ear protection
  • Lunch/Snacks
  • Beverages (hydration is strongly encouraged)

Footwear Requirement:
Open-toe shoes are NOT permitted. 
*Students wearing open-toe footwear will be unable to participate in live-fire drills, which may prevent completion of the course. 

Important Safety Note

Students must arrive with:

  • UNLOADED handgun, holstered
  • EMPTY magazine(s)

For safety reasons, all firearms and magazines must be EMPTY and UNLOADED upon arrival. Compliance will be verified prior to training. 
*Failure to follow safety procedures may result in removal from the course.

By the end of CTAC1, students will:

  • Demonstrate improved efficiency drawing and shooting from concealment
  • Apply advanced fundamentals under practical conditions
  • Better understand personal safety decision-making
  • Be prepared for progression into higher-level concealed carry training

CTAC Training Pathway

The Practical Concealed Carry program is designed as a progressive series:

  • CTAC1- Concealed Efficiency (Level 1)
  • CTAC2- Concealed Movement (Level 2)
  • CTAC3- Concealed in the Community (Level 3)

Each level builds on the previous to develop safe, capable, and responsible concealed carriers.
