Build Tactical Skill With Purpose

The Practical Pistol (PTAC) program is designed for shooters who want to develop an advanced self-defense mindset and practical, tactical firearm skills. These courses are conducted entirely on the range and focus on decision-making, movement, and performance under realistic conditions.
TVSA offers three progressive levels of Practical Pistol training. Each level builds intentionally on the previous one to ensure students advance safely, confidently, and competently.

Class Overview

The PTAC program provides students with the knowledge, feedback, and hands-on experience needed to function effectively with a firearm in situations that may require its use. Training emphasizes judgment, safety, and real-world application rather than static or purely mechanical shooting.
There is no classroom portion for Practical Pistol courses. All instruction takes place on the shooting range.
While prerequisite courses are recommended, TVSA Chief Instructors may evaluate students seeking to enter higher-level courses to ensure proper placement based on familiarity, skill, and experience.

Practical Pistol Training Levels
